Lakelytics provides continuous, low-maintenance dissolved oxygen monitoring for carp lakes and fisheries across the UK, Europe and the United States. A solar-powered sensor station measures the water around the clock and sends readings wirelessly to the cloud, so owners get phone alerts before oxygen crashes — and can switch an aerator on automatically.

Why we built it

Anyone who runs a fishery knows the fear of a warm, still night in summer. The surface looks fine at closing time, but through the small hours oxygen quietly drains from the deep water, bottoming out around dawn. By the time fish are gasping at the top, it’s often too late — and a single night can wipe out years of careful stocking.

Manual testing can’t catch that, because nobody’s there at 4am. Existing monitoring systems tended to be closed, corporate and expensive. We thought fishery owners deserved something honest, affordable and genuinely easy to live with — so we built it.

What we stand for

Our story

Lakelytics is a family-run business. It began the way a lot of good ideas do — with people we care about hitting the same wall in completely different places. Our founder, Adam Jones, has worked in technology since 2009: software development, data and monitoring systems, and more recently artificial intelligence. The thread through all of it was simple — watch something continuously, catch the warning sign early, and get a person the information they need before a small problem becomes a big one.

That turned out to be exactly what his friends and family needed for their lakes. Wherever the water was, the story never changed: a warm, still summer night, oxygen quietly draining from the deep water, and no way to know until fish were already gasping at dawn. The tools that could have warned them were closed, corporate and priced for industry — not for the people who actually care for the water. So we built the warning system ourselves, and made it honest, affordable and genuinely easy to live with.

The same hot, still night that threatens a carp lake in England threatens one in the Dordogne — or a catfish water in the American South. Lakelytics works anywhere there’s sunlight and a mobile signal, and we run infrastructure in both the UK and the United States, so customers across the UK, Europe and North America get fast, reliable service from data centres close to them — with their data kept in-region.
